How does Clip-Flow work ?
Thanks to its state of the art electronics, Clip-Flow identifies stable flows, which indicate a leak. It also identifies a sudden rise in the flow pattern, which indicates a burst pipe. It differentiates between normal day-to-day use and abnormal consumption.
When an anomaly is detected, it switches off the water income in the pipe where it has been installed.
When the number of users increases, how does Clip-Flow adapt to this new situation ?
Whether installed in an individual housing or in a building, Clip-Flow operates irrespective of the number of water users. Clip-Flow's leak detection system is based on water flow stability and not on consumption level.
Where should Clip-Flow be installed ?
Clip-Flow should be installed in:
Building blocks: At the entrance of each flat
Houses: In the basement, garage or near the water meter.
Public buildings: Depending on the size of the building, at the water entry point or on a particular point (e.g. toilets).
Who can install Clip-Flow ?
Clip-Flow is as easy to install as a tap or filter and does not require any electrical connection.
It starts automatically as soon as it is installed. It can be installed by any plumber without specific training.
On what type of pipe can Clip-Flow be installed ?
Clip-Flow can be installed on any type of pipe of a diameter lower or equal to 30 millimetres.
Can Clip-Flow be installed at the mains water supply to a building ?
Clip-Flow is intended to monitor water installations of standard sizes such as a private residence or toilets.
For pipes of higher diameters, like the mains water supply to a building, Check-Flow, which adapts to larger diameters, is better suited.
Check-Flow does not switch off the water and is better adapted to multiple user sites.
Can Clip-Flow be installed for a group of residences ?
Clip-Flow is designed to operate on the basis of one device per residence. For a group of residences, Check-Flow is better adapted.
Where is Clip-Flow better installed ?
Clip-Flow is typically installed in a cabinet located after the water meter. This enables the user to benefit from protection on his whole network including underground pipes and thus limit the risk of excessive water bills.
Can Clip-Flow be installed in a second home ?
Clip-Flow offers maximum security, especially when the house is partially occupied. It provides ‘round the clock' water consumption supervision, in particular for automatic watering systems or swimming pools. It therefore protects against excessive use, even in the event of burst pipes or accidents. It can also cut off the water supply automatically when no consumption has been recorded for three days.
Where can I buy Clip-Flow ?
Clip-Flow is available at many professional wholesalers and can be installed by any professional installer.
Does Clip-Flow require a power supply ?
No, Clip-Flow is equipped with a long life lithium battery. The battery can be changed easily at the end of its lifetime. (Between 7 to 15 years according to the volume of water used). The user is warned automatically when the battery comes to the end of its lifetime.
Particular cases when a large quantity of water is required
When a large quantity of water is required, e.g. filling up a swimming pool, Clip-Flow can be easily turned to “sleep mode” by pressing the button on its front panel.
In the case of continuous and permanent use, sensitivity adjustments can be easily modified to take into account situations of particular water consumption.
